MiSignal – Emergency Notification Platform

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MiSignal ("the Service," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Nature of the Service (No Legal Advice)
MiSignal is an emergency notification and communication platform designed to allow users to voluntarily notify trusted contacts (including attorneys, family members, or representatives) during situations that may involve immigration enforcement or other emergencies. MiSignal is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not replace consultation with a licensed attorney. Any information transmitted through the platform is user-initiated and informational only.
3. User Consent to Communications (SMS, Email, Alerts)
By registering for and using MiSignal, you expressly consent to the following: • Receiving text messages (SMS), emails, push notifications, and automated alerts related to: - Emergency notifications initiated by you - Account activity - Security alerts - System or service updates • Allowing MiSignal to send text messages (SMS) to third parties you designate (including attorneys or emergency contacts) on your behalf. • Receiving messages sent using automated systems, including but not limited to auto-dialers or notification triggers. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of non-essential SMS communications at any time by replying STOP or following the instructions provided in the message. Emergency alerts initiated by the user may not be cancelable once triggered.
4. Voluntary Activation & User Responsibility
All alerts and notifications are voluntarily activated by the user. You acknowledge and agree that: • MiSignal does not independently verify detentions, arrests, or enforcement actions. • Location data, timing, and alerts are based on user-provided or device-provided information. • An alert indicating that a user "may be detained" does not constitute confirmation of detention by ICE or any authority.
5. Location Data
If you enable location services, you authorize MiSignal to: • Collect and transmit your last known location at the time an alert is activated • Share that location with your designated contacts for emergency purposes only You may disable location access at any time, but doing so may limit the functionality of the Service.
6. No Guarantee of Outcome
MiSignal makes no guarantees that: • A notification will result in legal representation, intervention, or release • A recipient will receive, read, or act upon a message • Use of the Service will prevent detention, removal, or enforcement actions Use of MiSignal does not create an attorney-client relationship.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MiSignal shall not be liable for: • Any direct or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service • Delays, failures, or inaccuracies in message delivery • Actions or inactions taken by third parties receiving alerts • Decisions made by law enforcement or government agencies
8. User Representations
You represent that: • You have authority to provide the contact information of third parties you list • You consent to MiSignal contacting them on your behalf • You will not use the Service for false, misleading, or fraudulent alerts
9. Suspension or Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to MiSignal at any time for misuse, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
10. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12. SMS Program Disclosure
By providing your phone number and registering for MiSignal, you expressly consent to receive SMS messages related to your use of the service. These messages may include: • Emergency alerts triggered by you • Notifications sent to your designated contacts • Account activity and security alerts • Service-related updates Message frequency varies based on user activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. For assistance, reply HELP or contact support@misignal.app. MiSignal does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages and does not use purchased or third-party contact lists. SMS messages are sent only in response to user actions or account-related events. Consent is obtained via an explicit opt-in checkbox during registration. No pre-checked boxes are used.
13. Cases Platform — Profiles of Detained Individuals
MiSignal acts solely as a community visibility platform. Case profiles published on this platform are created and managed by family members or persons authorized by the detained individual. MiSignal does not verify the complete accuracy of published information beyond confirming detention via the Alien Registration Number (A-Number). Publishing a profile does not constitute legal advice or representation of any kind. MiSignal is not responsible for the accuracy of information provided by users who create profiles.
14. Donations via Zelle — Honor System
Donations made through this platform are direct transactions between the donor and the family member of the detained individual via the Zelle bank transfer service. MiSignal does not process, hold, or intermediate any payment. MiSignal does not guarantee that donated funds will be used for the purposes declared in the case profile. Donations are voluntary and irrevocable — MiSignal cannot manage refunds for transactions made outside its platform. The amount shown in the progress bar reflects amounts declared by donors and does not constitute confirmation of a verified transfer. MiSignal is not responsible for disputes between donors and recipients of funds.
15. Lawyer Network — Directory
Lawyers listed in the MiSignal network are independent professionals who have voluntarily chosen to be part of this community directory. MiSignal does not represent, endorse, or guarantee the services, results, or professional conduct of any lawyer listed on the platform. The connection between a user and a lawyer through MiSignal does not constitute an attorney-client relationship until both parties formally and separately agree to it. MiSignal is not a party to any fee agreement or legal representation between the user and the lawyer. Reviews published on the platform reflect individual user opinions and do not constitute an official evaluation of a lawyer's professional quality.
16. Products and Services Showcase — "Support Them by Buying"
Products and services listed on case profiles are offered directly by the family members of detained individuals. MiSignal acts solely as a visibility platform — it does not process payments, does not guarantee delivery of products or services, and does not intervene in any transaction between buyers and sellers. All transactions take place directly between the parties through the contact channels indicated in each profile. MiSignal is not responsible for disputes, breaches, or dissatisfaction arising from these transactions. The buyer assumes the responsibility of verifying the legitimacy of the product or service before making any payment.
17. Privacy and Immigration Data
The Alien Registration Number (A-Number) provided during profile creation is used exclusively to internally verify that the person is detained. This data will not be published, shared with third parties, or used for any other purpose. MiSignal does not share user information with government agencies, including ICE or USCIS, unless required by court order. ZIP code data is used solely to connect cases with local communities within the platform. By creating a profile, the user confirms they have authorization from the detained person or their legal representative to publish their information on this platform.
18. General Limitation of Liability
MiSignal is a community technology platform operated by El Reto USA LLC. MiSignal is not a non-profit organization, a law firm, or a financial institution. Use of this platform does not replace professional legal advice. MiSignal does not guarantee any legal, immigration, or financial outcome arising from the use of its services. The user uses the platform at their own risk and responsibility.
